Supernova Award Recognition

Supernova Scouts

Congratulations to our recent STEM SUPERNOVA AWARD Recipients!

The Supernova Awards recognize the hard work (and tons of fun) put forth by our Scouts in seeking more adventure in STEM and engaging in various activities using the scientific method.

The Supernova Awards are not your average award. They represent a dedication to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math that is woven into everything we do.

Huge CONGRATULATIONS go out to the following Scouts for their significant accomplishment achieved last month:

The Dr. Charles H. Townes Award for WEBELOS:

Taylor McNeill, Pack 380 Lost Dutchman District

The Dr. Bernard Harris Award for Scouts BSA:

Quinten Bush, Troop 653 Lost Dutchman District

Thomas Edison Award for Scouts BSA

Quinten Bush, Troop 653 Lost Dutchman District

The Thomas Edison award is the Second of three STEM Supernova Awards available to Scouts and represents deeper commitment to the study of STEM subjects by out Scouts. Well done to Quinten on this fine accomplishment

Upcoming Supernova Award

Watch the Council Calendar and the STEM webpage for upcoming Nova Award Virtual sessions for our Scouts. 2021 is shaping up to be a great STEM Year and the committee is planning monthly virtual Nova Awards alternating between Cubs and Scouts BSA. January will be “Tech Talk” for the Cub Scouts at Wolf, Bear and Webelos Programs, and February will be Scouts BSA “Up and Away” Award.

Please see the Council STEM page to discover more about what STEM brings to Grand Canyon Council!
